Leader verification

Identity, proof of residence and police clearance checks, uploaded by leaders and accepted by the Bridge team.

Purpose

To make sure the people who lead a group can be trusted with member information and group funds.

Scope

Every candidate chairperson, secretary and treasurer, and any replacement leader.

Documents required

  • National ID
  • Proof of residence
  • Police clearance

Procedure

  1. The group chooses its three leaders. The Bridge team adds each person as a candidate leader.
  2. The candidate signs in and opens Documents, then uploads each of the three documents (PDF, JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 5 MB each). Documents are stored privately and are never public.
  3. The Bridge team reviews each upload. It is accepted or rejected with a reason. A rejected document can be uploaded again.
  4. An accepted document becomes a permanent record. It cannot be deleted or replaced through the website.
  5. When all three documents are accepted, the leader becomes verified. The team then approves the leader, and the person gets access to the Leader area.
  6. A group is approved only when it has three approved leaders.

Rules

  • Leaders must be registered members of their group.
  • Documents are used only for verification and are viewed only by the Bridge team and the person who uploaded them.

Records

Uploaded files, review decisions with date and reviewer, leader status history in the audit log.
